One year ago, in the beginnings of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we launched our Practical Nursing program at our Phoenix, Arizona campus. This Summer we celebrated our first cohort of eager and determined future Arizona practical nurses completing their program!

2021 PRACTICAL NURSING CEREMONY

On July 14th, 2021 we invited our nursing faculty, staff, and first nursing cohort to celebrate the completion of their program at the beautiful Phoenix Art Museum. Our nursing students were thrilled to invite their family, friends, and support systems to the Practical Nursing ceremony. During the ceremony, our nursing students wore the traditional white scrubs and listened to speeches and remarks from their Academic Dean of Nursing Julie Jordan, MSN-ed, BSN, RN, Phoenix Director of Nursing Catherine Jagos, MSN-RN, Phoenix Campus Director Sophia Perkovich, their beloved Nursing instructor Debra Kuznicki, BSN, RN and two of their fellow nursing classmates, Anna W. and Karla D.

WELCOME TO YOUR NURSING PROFESSION

The ceremony was a symbolic end to their practical nursing education and welcomed them to the nursing profession. It’s hard to believe that one year ago we welcomed these 14 aspiring LPNs to our Phoenix campus. These nurses showed true grit and determination as they completed their nursing education during the pandemic. Many nursing students were balancing school, work, and family, often teaching their own children at home while going after their dreams. We are so proud of this nursing cohort, we can’t wait to see where they will go in their nursing profession! Everyone at Smtih Chason looks forward to seeing them all again at graduation later this year.
